Una de las características interesantes de este pedal es su construcción, esta construido completamente en metal lo que lo hace muy resistente, el sistema de switch es bastante bueno y en caso de daño los repuestos se consiguen fácilmente. El metal muff consta de 6 controles diferentes, tiene los controles básicos de todo pedal de distorsión que son el volumen y el gain, en este caso llamado “dist”, este control mide la cantidad de distorsión que usaremos, si lo ponemos bajo puede llegar a funcionar como un distorsión suave, aunque ese no es su diseño. Consta de 3 controles de ecualización lo que nos permite generar un sonido muy preciso, control individual para los bajos, medios y altos, una de las cosas curiosas de este pedal es la opción de dar un boost a las frecuencias altas, este control tiene su propio switch llamado “Boost” y su propio knob para configurar la frecuencia a modificar. Como todo pedal de distorsión de alta ganancia en necesario acompañarlo con un gate, esto para reducir el ruido generado por el pedal, combinarlo con el NS2 de la boss es una buena alternativa. Este pedal viene en tres presentaciones, cada versión es mas sencilla, la versión anterior el “micro Metal muff” viene sin los controles de ecualización, en cambio tiene un control de tono y un selector de medios “mid scoop”.
